Eat more fruits and
vegetables. These foods are naturally high in fiber and will keep
your bowels moving better than other foods that you may have chosen to eat.
Eat every three to four
hours. When you are eating more regular meals you will keep your
bowels moving because there will be a continual contraction of the intestinal tract.
Drink prune juice or eat
prunes. Prunes are known to have a laxative effective, but will not
disturb your bowels nearly as much as laxatives. Prunes or prune
juice will help to get the bowels moving, usually within a few hours time.
Eat more
fiber. This is the simplest way to get things going
again. Fiber is necessary in your diet to keep things moving
along in the bowels. When you have too little fiber the bowels
will slow down, and may even stop, causing constipation. Getting
the recommended daily intake of fiber through supplements or fruits and vegetables and grains will help you
relieve constipation naturally.
Drink more
water. Water is necessary for life. It not only keeps you alive, it keeps you healthy. When you are not getting enough water your stool will harden and it will
become much more difficult to have a normal bowel movement. When
you begin drinking more water you can help to get things moving again.
Start exercising more
often. Exercise is a great way to relieve
constipation. While it may seem contrary to what your body is
saying, it will help. When you’re constipated moving hurts or
may hurt, but the more you move the more you’ll get things moving around inside of you and that may help to
relieve constipation.
If you begin doing all of
these things you will certainly find that you are able to stop constipation. In many cases, people never suffer from constipation again once they learn how
to get rid of constipation through these methods. Sometimes it is
simply learning to change your approach to life that will allow you to start living life happier, healthier, and
without the threat of chronic constipation.
